Hi! My name is Kaylee and I am a freshman Stanford University studying Symbolic Systems. I was Editor-in-Chief for Scot Scoop, my high school's online publication, and a staff writer for the Highlander, our newspaper. Writing has always played a large role in my life and since my life-changing talk with my 4th grade teacher about my subpar English grade, I have worked hard to develop my writing skills. I became involved in the journalism program when I entered the MAS program as a sophomore, in which I was able to foster my journalistic skills and interests. In MAS, I was a "mini-editor," learning under the wing of the experienced upperclassmen editors and also improving the skills of my peers. Journalism has opened my eyes to opportunities that have made a huge impact on my life as it has allowed me to explore topics that I am passionate about and spread awareness on the issues that matter most to me. I'm super excited to continue journalism as part of the Stanford Daily where I get to meet some of the most interesting people around! Enjoy!
